Shortly after 1 p.m. ET Wednesday, Protesters in support of US President Donald Trump swarmed the Capitol building, forcing officials to order lawmakers to shelter in place and halting debate in both the House and Senate. Congress was meeting to confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.
DC police who spoke with the CNN confirmed that a woman is dead after being shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds, More information on the shooting was not immediately available and a police spokesperson said additional details will come later.
