Nigeria military says it has completed plans to commence the prosecution of surrendered Boko Haram terrorists in the North-east.
More than 1,200 Boko Haram fighters and their families recently surrendered to the Nigeria troops amid criticisms from different segments of the country that the terrorists repentance might not be genuine, which may further pose danger to the country.
Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. General Christopher Musa, who disclosed this in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, during a media tour of the Theater command, said the military was working within the ambit of international laws and that the law would take its cause.
He also said that the military would stop the recruitment drive of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) in the zone.
The military had recently raised the alarm that the group had embarked on a fresh recruitment drive due to military offensive that resulted to mass surrender of its members.
