The Dodo of Wawa district in Borgu Local Government of Niger, Dr Mahmud Aliyu, has been freed from kidnappers.
The traditional ruler was kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen on Sunday at his palace at about 10pm.
The Police Spokesperson of Niger State Police Command, DSP. Wasiu Abiodun, on Saturday made the announcement in Minna.
Abiodun said the royal father was rescued on Friday at about 19:30 pm after a sustained effort of the Police, military and vigilante.
Aliyu is currently receiving Medical attention at an undisclosed facility.
