Robbers have stolen the Department of State Services (DSS) case file on Sunday Igboho supporters facing trial in Abuja.
This was disclosed by the counsel representing the DSS, Mr Idowu Awo, in a suit involving Igboho supporters during Wednesday’s sitting of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Addressing the court, Awo said his colleague who was to bring the case file to court had boarded a vehicle belonging to armed robbers commonly known as ”one chance.”
The lawyer said his belongings including the case file were taken by the armed robbers.
He prayed the court for an adjournment.
The court session had been scheduled to hear a fundamental human rights suit filed against the DSS by the 12 supporters.
The applicants are seeking N100 million being aggravated and exemplary damages against the DSS for the serial breach of their constitutional rights.
The secret service officials had, on July 1, raided Igboho’s residence in Oyo and arrested 12 of his supporters.
The suspects were moved to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where they were kept in detention.
Justice Obiora Egwatu of a Federal High Court in Abuja had granted bail to the supporters.
But the DSS filed an appeal challenging the bail granted to four out of the 12 persons.
