A former Grand Ghadi, Justice Abdulkadir Orire, is dead.
He died on Tuesday in Ilorin after a brief illness, a family source confirmed.
He was the first Grand Khadi of Kwara state; and former Grand Ghadi of the Shariah Court of Appeal.
He was also Secretary-General of the Jama’atu Nasir Islam (JNI).
Late Orire was born in 1936 at Obanisunwa in Ilorin, Kwara state capital. He attended the School of Arabic Studies in Kano, School of Oriental and African Studies, London, United Kingdom, University of London and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He was instrumental to the formation of several Islamic organisations, including the Muslim Corpers Association.
The late jurist was the Chairman, Board of Trustee, Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN).
