At least 83 people were killed and 1,120 others affected across 19 local government areas of Kaduna State.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of Disease Control Agency, Kaduna State, Dr Hamza Ibrahim Ikara, in an interview with journalists on Friday.
He said “we have 1,120 people affected and we have collected over 85 samples which 55 resulted positive. We have recorded 83 deaths. 19 local government areas are affected in the state.”
He said they are going round the 19 affected LGAs to ensure environmental hygiene and personal hygiene.
He said they are providing portable water and chlorine for water treatment because the disease is caused by the water source.
