The Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi has ordered security personnel deployed to restore peace in the troubled Effium community in Ohaukwu local government area to shoot at any unauthorized person seen with a gun.
He also ordered the security personnel to shoot any person exchanging fire with them.
The governor gave the orders on Monday during a security meeting held at Effium Central School to resolve the communal crisis that erupted on Friday.
The governor had on Saturday imposed curfew in the coming following the crisis that erupted in the area when two factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) attacked themselves over leadership struggle, leading to the death of seven people and destruction of property.
