The gunmen who abducted seven orphans and a guard on Saturday at the Rachel’s Orphanage Home in Abaji Area Council of FCT, and two other persons in the area have demanded N30 million ransom to release their victims.
The abductors demand N10 million for the seven orphans and the guard of the home, and N10 million each for the other two people abducted in the area.
A source at the orphanage home told journalists on Monday that the kidnappers made a phone call on Sunday and Monday, in which they demanded N10 million for the seven orphans and the security guard before they could be set free.
Both the management of the orphanage and the family of the two other abducted people said they told the kidnappers that they had no such money.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Maryam Yusuf, was yet to confirm the claims.
