Former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Malami Buwai, is dead.
He died on Monday in Gusau, Zamfara state capital after a protracted illness.
He was 76.
He served as agric minister during the military Administration of late General Sani Abacha in 1994.
Dr Buwai is survived by a wife, 15 children and 10 grandchildren.
The deceased was born in Gusau in 1945.
The former minister was a large scale farmer and member of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).
He has since been buried according to Muslim rites in Gusau after a funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Gusau Emirate, Liman Dan-Alhaji Sambo.
Some of the prominent people that attended the funeral include the Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, his deputy, Mahadi Aliyu Gusau, among others.
