Emir of Daura Umar Faruk Umar has approved the appointment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Musa Haro, as the first head of the newly created district of Durmukul.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports how the Katsina State House of Assembly, in an emergency meeting, approved the creation of Durmukul district in Daura senatorial district of the state.
Durmukul, Buhari’s ancestral village, is in Daura local government area.
The emir said the creation of the new district was to honour Buhari.
According to a letter from the palace and addressed to Mr. Haro, the district head will start his official activities Sunday, 1 August, 2021 “but a coronation date will be announced in due course.”
Communities to be under the new district head are: Durmukul, Jirdede, Kokutoko, Bula, Kwalgon Dangwara, Yikka, Mammani, Raba, Gagir, Jassai, Yan Hakum, Tilla and Sukuf.
