Nigeria recorded 238 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday as the country observed its second holiday of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Statistics from the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed that the new cases were recorded in Lagos 181, Akwa Ibom 45, Oyo 8, Ogun 2, while Ekiti and FCT had one each.
Also, the NCDC data showed that there are zero cases from Rivers, Osun, Ondo, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kano, and Nasarawa States.
Most northern states have observed low-key Eid-el-Kabir celebration with the cancellation of the traditional annual durbar (horse riding) events to de-escalate the spread of the pandemic, particularly with the reported cases of the Delta variant in some parts of the country.
The disease control agency said Nigeria recorded 170,122 confirmed cases of the pandemic since its outbreak last year, with 164,741 discharged and
2,130 deaths.
