The youth, under the auspices of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union, on Saturday protested over rising banditry and kidnapping in Kaduna State.
Kaduna State has become the epic centre of banditry and kidnapping in recent times. Bandits have kidnapped hudrends of people, including students, and collected millions as ransom before they were released.
They have also killed several people during several attacks on traveller, villagers and schools.
The protesters converged at the Unity Fountain Saturday morning, carrying placards with different inscriptions: Carnage must stop in Kaduna’, ‘governments at all levels must wake up from slumber’, ‘El-Rufa’i is sleeping.’
The protesters said that all hands must be on deck to rescue the state from bandits and kidnappers.
