The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved ₦309.9 billion for road contracts which will be handled by the Dangote Group.
This makes the largest single award of concrete roads undertaken by the Federal Government.
The Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola who disclosed this after the weekly meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, said five road projects totalling 274.9 kilometers under the Federal Government Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Policy would be advanced by the Dangote industries as tax credit.
Fashola said the move was part of the government’s multiple funding options with the private sector.
He said the roads are: Bama and Banke in Borno State, Nnamdi Azikiwe road in Kaduna State, the Deep Sea Port access road, sections one and three in Lagos State through the Epe to Sagamu expressway.
