The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary/Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), has dissolved all leadership organs of the party in Zamfara State with “immediate effect.”
The dissolution was contained in a letter dated 9th July, 2021 and addressed to the State chairman of the party, Lawal M. Liman Kaura. It was signed by CECPC’s national secretary, James Akpanuodedehe on behalf of the committee.
The Mai Mala Buni-led committee then constituted a 13-man Caretaker Committee headed by Senator Hassan Gusau, to run the affairs of the party in the state.
The committee has Muntari Ahmed Anka as deputy chairman, while Professor Abdullahi Shinkafi is the secretary.
The party said the dissolution of the State, Ward and Local Government executives was sequel to the recent defection of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that CECPC chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Buni had announced Matawalle as the leader of APC in the state following his defection to the party recently.
The party, in the letter dissolving all its leadership organs, thanked them for their meritorious services, while soliciting their cooperation and support to the caretaker committee in the discharge of its new assignment.
