After 21 years in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Grace Bent has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senator represented Adamawa South Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly between 2007 and 2011 under the PDP.
She was formally received into APC in Yola by the former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, on behalf of Mai Mala Buni caretaker committee.
The ceremony was also graced by Governors Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State and Muhammadu Badaru of Jigawa State, while Yahaya Bello of Kogi State was represented by his deputy, Edward Onoja.
“After 21 years in the PDP during which I held vital positions, I have decided, after wide consultations, to move on and to do so with progressive people, hence my decision to come into APC,” she said.
Speaking at the occasion, Senator Nnamani said Senator Bent was a crowd puller, adding that the party would greatly benefit from her influence in Adamawa State towards the 2023 election.
