The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has set up a 12-man committee headed by Senator Victor Umeh to work for the success of the party’s candidate Professor Charles Soludo in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State.
Governor of Anambra State Willie Obiano who constituted the committee Friday in Awka, also named a former deputy governor of the state Emeka Sibeudu as Secretary. Other members oare Dr.Uju Okeke, Igwe Rowland Odegbo, Anayo Nnebe, Uche Okafor and. Ifeatu Obiokoye. The rest include Norbert Obi, Tony Ifeanya, Rommy Ezeonwuka, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu and Primus Odili.
Obiano said the plane will also work for peace in the party through reconciliation of aggrieved members. The governor said the team should make the APGA very strong and virile and win the 2021 governorship election, adding that “that is the essence of this committee.”
Speaking at the occasion, Umeh said as party members, there is no alternative to APGA being in government of Anambra State, adding that “the committee will do everything humanly possible to bring back peace and unity of purpose to the party.”
He said “those of us who are in this committee are very well experienced and committed members of this party and we have after careful consideration of this request by the governor, accepted to serve in the committee in the most patriotic manner to ensure that APGA comes out victorious in the forthcoming governorship election.”
