A15-year-old housemaid, simply identified as Hauwa, was alleged to have abducted a 10-month-old baby at Poly Road Tudun Wada, Kaduna south local government area of Kaduna State.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the housemaid was hired by the infant’s mother, Fauziya Aminu, 12 days ago.
Fauziya told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the suspect is an Indigiene of Zamfara state.
Fauziya said she left the boy with the maid around 8am on Friday when she was leaving for school to write a test, but when she returned home she discovered that the maid had left with the baby.
“I used to drop her with my neighbour before leaving for school everyday but on Friday I asked Hauwa to take the baby to my neighbour’s room before I left for school,” Fauziya said.
“When I came back from school I went to my neighbour’s room to pick them but was told she didn’t come and we searched for her but couldn’t find her.”
She said the incident had been reported to the police in the area.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Jalige Mohammed, who confirmed the incident said investigation had commenced.
He said the police had discovered that the maid left for Zamfara with the baby, but would soon be tracked.
