Four candidates writing the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for vandalising a Computer Based Test Centre (CBT) at Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
Otuoke is the hometown of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
NSCDC State Commandant, Christiana Abiakam-Omanu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Thursday.
She said the four male candidates disrupted the smooth exercise at the centre and destroyed some facilities on Tuesday.
Abiakam-Omanu said the suspects were allowed to participate in the examination before they were arrested.
She said that an investigation is ongoing to unravel other suspects who took part in the act, with a view to making them face the full weight of the law, as NSCDC will not tolerate vandalism of government infrastructure.
