Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari says the reason his administration will never again dialogue with bandits because they lack central leadership.
Masari who disclosed this on Friday while speaking when he visited the Chief of Air Staff at the Nigerian Air Frice Headquarters, Abuja, said he had made several efforts to engage the bandits but there was no success because each group operates independently.
While noting that the bandits also betrayed the state government, Masari said his administration would continue to make efforts to tackle banditry in the state.
The governor commended men and officers of the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies operating in the state, noting that their efforts had helped greatly in motivating the activities if bandits.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Oladayo Amao, assured the governor that bandits and other criminals would be dealt with decisively, stressing that the security situation would improve for the better
“With the induction of new platforms including the Super Tucanos and other platforms in the next month or 2, there will be no hiding place for these bandits,” he said.
