An unidentified number of students of Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, have been abducted by bandits.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the bandits, numbering over 100 on motorcycles, invaded the school through the Rijau forest.
He said he couldn’t give the number of students abducted during the attack, but teachers were also among the abductees.
Twenty Mobile Policemen guarding the school were overpowered by the bandits and one of them was reportedly shot dead.
The state police command is yet to give a statement on the incident.
