The Federal Government on Thursday set up a 10- member bi-partite committee to resolve the labour dispute between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Kaduna State Government.
This was one of the outcome of the meeting between NLC leadership and official of the state government on Thursday in Abuja.
Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Jafaru Sani and NLC President Ayuba Wabba, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), promising to settle their dispute and embrace peaceful correlation, by desisting from any further industrial action or victimisation of workers.
Labour Minister, Chris Ngige told journalists after the meeting that the committee will critically look at the issues under contention and resolve them based on the provisions of Section 20 of the Labour Act.
The NLC had began a five- day warning strike and protest in the state on Monday over the sack of 4,000 workers by the state government. The strike was, however, suspended following a plea by the federal government.
