An explosion on Tuesday occurred in Abakpa a Kaduna suburb instantly killing two children – a 13-year-old body whose name was given as Imam and a girl Nasrin of about six years.
The explosion which occurred in the area adjacent the old Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna also wounded three residents.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that the cause of the explosion and its made are not immediately known, but security agencies have arrived the scene of the incident to investigate the remote cause of the explosion.
A resident of the area who doesn’t want to be identified told the 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that he was taking his bath when he heard the explosion and ran out.
He said the explosion occurred very close to his house, adding that he came out and met one of the affected victims Imam whom he tried to help to the hospital, but died along the road.
Details are sketchy as at the time of this report, but the incident has caused fears in the area as residents where asking how the incident came about.
