Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna on Monday.
Speaking to journalists after a closed-door meeting, PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, said the visit was a symbol of unity and solidarity within the ruling party.
He explained that following the Ramadan fast, Lent, and the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the governors felt it was important to visit Buhari to show appreciation and respect for his leadership during his eight-year tenure.
Describing the former president as a father figure to the APC, Uzodinma said they were pleased to find him in good health and high spirits.
He noted that the APC has continued to grow in strength and capacity, crediting this to the party’s commitment to consultation and placing national interest above personal ambition.
The PGF Chairman stressed the importance of unity and strong internal leadership in achieving electoral success, assuring that the APC remains Nigeria’s largest political party and is well-positioned ahead of the 2027 elections.
