A bandit kingpin, Yusuf Yellow, has been killed in Zamfara.
The terrorist, also known as Dan Isuhu, was killed during a gun fight with bandits loyal to another terror kingpin, Dogo Gide.
Until his death, Yusuf Yellow had been terrorizing motorists along the Gusau – Tsafe – Funtua road and villages in Faskari, Gusau and Tsafe.
Yusuf Yellow’s death was confirmed by the spokesperson of Zamfara governor Sulaiman Bala Idris in a Facebook post on Thursday.
In another Facebook post, a presidential spokesperson, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, also confirmed the death of the bandit ion Thursday.
Local sources said the gunfight the leading to the death of Yusuf Yellow happened around Kuncin Kalgo. The slain terrorist was reportedly leading his fighters to patronize the weekly market in Dan Jibga on Thursday when he met his Waterloo.
The source said earlier on Wednesday, Yusuf Yellow had rustled some cows whose owner has close ties with Dogo Gide.
Dogo Gide led his fighters to ambush Yusuf Yellow along the route to Jibga market on Thursday where an intense fight took place between the two dangerous gangs. The terror leader was killed during the fight, local sources said.
