Kano politician and an All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaji Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Kwamanda, has described the resignation of former Kaduna state governor Nasiru El-Rufai from APC to Social Democratic Party (SDP) as good opportunity for Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani to explore his full potentials as a progressive leader.
Kwamanda said, the former governor’s act is a pure indicator that shows that he is all out to help himself and his family as the move clearly indicates the former governor’s grievances for not attaining some of his personal needs.
“Despite the fact that I always maintained that APC has failed Nigerians at the federal level, there are some governors that have been doing exceptionally good in their states. We have seen the antecedents of Malam Nasir during his eight years and we wouldn’t want that to happen again. I strongly believe that his resignation from APC is an opportunity for Governor Uba Sani to put Kaduna back on track,” he said.
He explained that the Kaduna APC should be jubilating by now, because the development according to him is a call positive reform in the party. If people like Malam Nasiru are leaving, then I would say the party is recuperating from the grip of a dictator,” he said.
According to him, SDP can never be a threat to APC because it will only host aggrieved retired politicians that will continue to fight for their selfish interest. “SDP will soon be engulfed in crisis as these retirees will be on each other as they will never agree on an issue. If I should advise SDP, I would tell them, lock your gates to these retirees,” said Kwamanda..
