Six persons have been reportedly killed by fire incidents and also property worth N521 million were lost in January in Kano state.
This was revealed in a statement issued and signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Kano State Fire Service command, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi . According to him, the command had also received a total of 56 fire calls, 10 rescue calls and seven false alarms within the month under review.
“Estimated properties destroyed by fire in the month of January stands at N521,121,200 while estimated properties saved by the state fire service stood at N1,196,950,600. Six lives were lost and also six lives were saved,” he said.
Abdullahi urged the general public to handle fire with care to avoid fire Incidences most especially during the harmattan period. He also highlighted the importance of keeping in touch with men of the service for advise,
