Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), is set to launch an autobiography titled ‘A Journey In Service’ on February 20.
The Board of Trustees of the IBB Presidential Library Foundation who revealed this, said the book launch will be accompanied with a fundraising for a presidential library, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
According to the organisers, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, would chair the event with President Bola Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour.
Former President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, will deliver the keynote address, and former Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, as the reviewer of the autobiography.
Former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan as well as former Heads of State, Generals Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar are billed to attend the occasion.
A former Minister of Defence, Theophilus Danjuma, and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, are the chief launchers.
It would be recalled that seven years ago, Babangida thought of writing an autobiography, but said he was uncertain if Nigerians would “want to read about a dictator.”
He said the public has a wrong impression of him, citing his role in the June 12 crisis, and some of the controversial policies he unfurled between 1985 to 1993 as head of a junta.
