Nassarawa local government area of Kano State has offered scholarships to 350 students to undergo the National Certificate of Education (NCE) course at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education in Kano.
Disclosing the initiative during the distribution of admission letters to successful candidates of the local government area, the Chairman of the local government Ambassador Yusuf Imam Shu’aibu said, the initiative is in conformity with Kano state government priority sector adding that the council will continue to assist the less privileged to acquire tertiary education. While outlining the importance of education to the council’s administration, the chairman revealed that a similar gesture is underway for additional indigenes of the area to obtain National Diploma (ND) in various fields at the state owned polytechnic.
While congratulating the students, the Chairman charged them to make good use of the opportunity by facing their studies with utmost seriousness so as to graduate with fruitful results.
He also urged them to be good ambassadors of the local government by strictly adhering of the college’s Rules and Regulations as well as to distance themselves from drugs and other bad activities.
Similarly, the guest of honour at the ceremony Dr. Naja’atu Bala Muhammad commended the council’s efforts towards providing an opportunity for the children of the masses to get educated. She advised the beneficiaries not to disappoint the council’s gesture
