Senate President Akpabio has threatened to deal with President Bola Tinubu’s ministers and other appointees who fail to honour invitations by the National Assembly.
Mr Akpabio spoke during President Tinubu’s 2025 budget presentation before the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The senate president vowed to use “constitutional powers to take further actions” against the erring ministers.
He said, “Those who disregard invitations to the NASS are not democrats and have no place in your (Tinubu’s) government.”
Speaking on the controversial tax reform bills, Mr Akpabio described them as a monumental shift in Nigeria’s fiscal landscape.
He said, “Those who have not yet understood the initiative are the ones shouting the loudest.”
However, he said, “We will make sure to listen to Nigerians.”
Mr Tinubu is currently presenting a 2025 budget of N47.96 trillion.
