Two gunmen have been arrested by residents of Ungwar Yamadawa, Dorayi Babba quarters in Kano metropolis, after a failed kidnap attempt.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that hoodlums infiltrated the area on Wednesday and attempted to kidnap a resident who was accessing his garage late evening when he arrived at his home.
A source said on Thursday that the victim struggled with the assailants and was able to escape into the midst of some onlookers.
He said gunmen fired several gunshots in the air to scare the onlookers after the victim had escaped, but the residents summoned courage and pounced on them. He said the residents were able to apprehend the gunmen and handed them over to police who later arrived at the scene.
The spokesperson of Kano Police Command, Haruna Abdullahi, confirmed the incident.
He said the police had commenced investigation on the incident.
