The Kano State Executive Chairman of the Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), Dr Zaid Abubakar, has revealed the reasons behind the ongoing state’s rebranding of revenue generation apparatus in the state. He said the move is geared towards robust professionally driven revenue services.
Speaking during the official unveiling of the service’s new Mission and Vision, the EC stated that the service’s new mission and vision as well as its new core values are aimed at triggering a new revenue derivation strategy under the rebranding processes that will ensure an increase in revenue generation.
He explained that in the new revenue generation move, the new vision of the service will now be. ‘To build the world’s most referenced sub-national revenue authority in Africa’, he added that though this may look so ambitious, the move is to ensure better and effective revenue generation activities that will be professionally driven.
He stressed that the service’s new core values of professionalism, integrity, excellence service, efficiency and collective responsibilities are clearly tailored towards attaining the new mission of ‘To deliver value added taxpayer services through a sustainable and efficient tax system while optimizing revenue collection’.
“This service is committed to ensure an inclusive and improved revenue collection through excellence and efficient processes. Our rebranding efforts will surely give rise to a better and professional revenue collection that is realistic and sustainable,” he said.
In his remarks, KIRS Executive Director Compliance and Enforcement Group Malam Muhammad Abba Aliyu said, to attain the desired goal of the service staffs ill be trained on the new processes to ensure an improved revenue generation in the state
