Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He disclosed this in a November 29, 2024 letter to his PDP Ward Chairman in Obosi, Anambra State.
In the letter, Chidoka recalled being on a founding member and his contributions to shaping the party’s ideological and strategic direction.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunities to serve as the Federal Road Safety Corps Marshal and as a minister, roles through which he contributed to national development.
The former minister said he will be focusing more attention on the Athena Centre for Policy and November 29, a nonpartisan think tank committed to evidence-based policy recommendations.
He said the Centre maintains a neutral stance from politics, adding that that informed his decision to step away from partisan politics.
He, however, said he is still committed to good governance, national unity, and evidence-driven public service while leaving the PDP with respect and gratitude.
He has recently taken a swipe against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Edo election.
Speaking on “Politics Today” on Channels Television, he said the election process was a “sham,” adding that INEC inflated voter numbers and tampering with results in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
