José Mourinho said he couldn’t wait to hit the ground running after he signed a three year deal with the Giallorossi.
The 58-year-old expressed delight, given thanks to the Friedkin family for giving him the opportunity to serve the club.
The Portuguese has coached top clubs across Europe, including FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and recently Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Man united manager was relieved of his job at Tottenham Hotspur, and was immediately replaced by the club’s legend Mason.
“Thank you to the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and to be part of their vision,” Mourinho said.
“After meetings with the ownership and Tiago Pinto, I immediately understood the full extent of their ambitions for AS Roma. It is the same ambition and drive that has always motivated me and together we want to build a winning project over the upcoming years.
“The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I cannot wait to start next season.”
