The weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting suspended on November 6 due to the death of the late Chief of Army Staff, lt.-General; Taorred Lagbaja resumed today with President Bola Tinubu presiding.
The meeting is currently going at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tinubu had postponed it indefinitely to honour the late General Lagbaja, last week.
After waiting for some time at the Council Chamber on Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima announced to cabinet members that the President had rescheduled FEC due to the death of Lagbaja.
However today’s meeting began at about 1 pm when President Tinubu arrived at the Council Chamber after meeting with a delegation of South-South stakeholders.
Today’s meeting is likely going to discuss the 2025 budget as officials of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning were invited into the meeting for a presentation to council.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Chief of Staff, to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Head of Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack and Ministers are attending the FEC meeting.
