National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives raided some eateries in Jos, the Plateau capital, and recovered baked cakes made with Indian hemp.
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said this in a statement on Monday.
He said some of the drug joints raided included KNL Lounge located along Lamingo road, another branch along Mining Quarters, Rantya Low-Cost estate and Tuscany Lounge on Azaki Ave, all in Jos metropolis.
He said besides the drugged cakes called brownie, recovered from the three eateries,
48.726 kilograms of psychotropic substances were also seized.
He said 14kg of Barcadin Codeine; Flunitrazapem 355.5grammes; Tramadol 370.1 grams; Exol-5, 30kg; Diazepam 2.5kg and Pentazocine 1.5 kg, totaling 48.726kg were seized.
Babafemi said five persons have been arrested in connection with the seized drugs.
