The new Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed the son of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, as commissioner of health.
The governor’s spokesperson, Fred Itua, revealed this in a statement, adding that Okpebholo has also appointed Musa Ikhilor, a lawyer, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Itua said the appointments were made shortly after the governor and his deputy were sworn in on Tuesday in Benin.
Also appointed was a former member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Samson Osagie, as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
The statement noted that all the appointments are to be approved by the Edo State House of Assembly, as the governor is expected to forward the names of the commissioner nominees to the Assembly.
