After collecting N55 million from their parents, kidnappers of the Greenfield University, Kaduna have threatened to kill the 17 remaining students they abducted about two weeks ago, if the Kaduna state government and parents of the victims fail to bring additional N100 million and 10 new Honda motorcycles by Tuesday.
This threat was issued Monday by one of the bandit leaders, Sani Idris Jalingo, in an interview with Hausa Service of the Voice of America.
The bandits stormed the university located along Abuja- Kaduna Highway, and took away 23 students after killing a staff of the school on April 20.
“We heard the utterances of the Kaduna State governor that he will not pay ransom to bandits to purchase additional arms,” the bandit said during the interview.
Jalingo warned the state government and the families thus: “if they fail to bring N100 million and 10 brand new Honda motorcycles by Tuesday, I can assure you they will use trucks to evacuate the bodies of the remaining students.”
