Kano state government is planning to spend N168.4 billion on education, and N90.6 billion for heath in 2025.
This was revealed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf during the 2025 budget presentation to the Kano State House of Assembly on Friday.
The budget is projected to have a capital to recurrent ratio of 57:43 when approved.
The total state budget is N549,160,417,663.00 billion, with capital expenditure taking N312,634,912,672.18 billion, leaving N236,525,504,990.82 billion for recurrent expenditure.
The state earmarked N12. 2 billion for transport, N21.03 billion for agriculture, N27. 23 billion for water resources, and N70.78 billion for infrastructure.
In October last year, the governor presented a N437.3 billion budget, with recurrent component of N157.5 billion and capital votes od N279.8 billion.
The general performance of the 2024 approved budget stood at 77% percent in terms of recurrent revenue, while the capital expenditure has a performance of 65% from January to August 2024, the governor said.
