Controversial cross dresser, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight and detained by Immigration officers late on Thursday night as he set to leave the country.
The embattled social influencer revealed this on his Instagram page to alert followers about the arrest, saying he had been wounded in the process by the Immigration officers.
Bobrisky accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for his latest plight when he wrote, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
It would be recalled that Bobrisky was accosted on October 22, at the Sème border as he was trying to flee Nigeria.
Bobrisky’s travails began in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for naira abuse.
He was officially kept at Kirikiri Prison, and reports later said he spent only three weeks in the facility before being discreetly moved to a private location.
This led to widespread speculation that his early release and special treatment were made through bribery, with accusations of a ₦15 million payment made to officials to secure his transfer and preferential conditions.
The situation escalated in late September 2024 when social media influencer VeryDarkMan posted an audio recording allegedly involving Bobrisky.
In the leaked recording, Bobrisky reportedly said music artist Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, had approached him during his imprisonment, seeking ₦10 million to secure a presidential pardon.
But Falana and Falz issued a cease-and-desist letter on 16 October 2024, demanding a retraction and public apology for what they described said there was no time he made allegations, saying he was not responsible for the leaked content and urging the Falanas to hold VeryDarkMan accountable instead.
