Nigeria has been plunged into darkness on Saturday as the national electricity grid collapses again— the third time in one week.
Official data obtained from the Nigerian system operator’s portal showed that the grid recorded zero megawatts (MW) as of 9.10am on Saturday.
This incident is the third one within one week, it was revealed.
Earlier in the week, the country experienced blackout on October 14 and October 15.
Findings by this newspaper revealed that national electricity grid has collapsed eight times in 2024 alone.
