Zonal Commander, NAPTIP, Benin Zonal Command, Mrs. Ijeoma Uduak, disclosed this on Friday.
She said Etim was trafficked as a child 20 years ago, with her family, when she was six years old. Uduak added that Etim was abducted while attending classes at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Primary School, Idu in Uruan local government area of Akwa Ibom State, and taken to Benin City in Edo State.
The NPATIP Commander said the victim was taken to Benin City by a woman, who gave her out to another woman as a domestic servant.
She said Etim was rescued after a good samaritan petitioned NAPTIP in Benin reporting the case of a young lady in his neighbourhood who was being tormented daily.
Uduak said the suspects have been arrested by the agency and were being prosecuted.
She said Etim has been handed over to her mother, Madam Esther Udoh, at the palace of the Village Head of Idu Uruan, Uruan local government area.
She advised parents not to fall for the deception of traffickers.
