The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi has assures the Fulani of safety in Oyo State.
The Alaafin gave the assurance on Sunday when he received leaders of Fulani in the state at his palace.
He said Fulanis have been living in the state peacefully for decades without causing nuisance.
The royal father also said that the Miyyeti Allah Vigilante group needs to be inclusive in tackling the insecurity, as that will ease the work of security agencies.
He said the mode of the operation of the Amotekun Corps is not in order, as there is no way they can operate without the cooperation of other security agencies.
The Alaafin said: “Amotekun cannot work successfully without the DSS, police VGN and including that of Miyetti Allah, Amotekun have been killing police when did you hear that VGN of Fulani kill police?
“The Fulanis amidst us can identify whoever is coming to do evil because we have them among us that can differentiate the Fulanis from Kano and other parts of the country.”
“Amotekun is doing the job not giving to them. All because they are in uniform does not mean they can terrorise the community by collecting money from the citizens but I have not heard that the Fulani VGN or Miyetti Allah leaving among us ever collect money from anybody.”
