Former political adviser to Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Dr. Usman Bugaje, has been detained by the Department of State Service (DSS) for allegedly criticising President Buhari’s administration.
Bugaje’s wife, Dr. Mairo Mandara, disclosed that Bugaje was invited by the agency at 10:00 am on Wednesday, and detained for eight hours.
In her tweet, Mandara hinted about an appearance on an AIT program where Bugaje criticized Buhari government’s poor handling of national security.
Bugaje had served as a political adviser to the then Vice President Atiku Abubakar, under the Obasanjo administration; and had over the years been a critic of the present administration.
“He went to acknowledge their invitation around 10: 00 am. They later released him on bail around 5 pm in the evening, a few minutes after I posted the story of his arrest on social media,” she said.
