The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Bala Hassan Abubakar, on Friday said the murder of Sarkin Gobir called for decisive action against bandits in Northwestern region.
He stated this while consoling the government and the people of Sokoto state over the gruesome murder of the monarch during a courtesy call on Sokoto Governor Ahmed Aliyu.
He assured the people of Sokoto state that they would step up their campaigns against bandits and hit them more than ever before.
He said the bandits terrorising the state and the region would test the full weight of their arsenal in a matter of weeks or months.
“In the coming weeks, we will intensify our air operation in the region.
“Let me, therefore, send a clear message to these criminals elements. I assure you, your days are numbered.
“We will not rest until we ensure you meet your fate.
“We will find you no matter how long it takes,” he promised.
Abubakar lamented over the lack of operation base in the state which he said hindered their operation.
He however, called on the state government to provide them with the essential requirement to commence full operation in the state.
Responding Governor Aliyu who was represented by his deputy, Engineer Idris Gobir said the current administration was not joking with security issue and were ready to spend their last Kobo to restore peace in the state.
