A policeman and a vigilante were killed by gunmen in Sokoto on Monday.
The bandits who were said to have come in white Hilux vehicles shot and killed the deceased while on patrol along Sokoto-Bodinga road.
“The gunmen came in a white Hilux and opened fire on the policeman and vigilantes who were manning a checkpoint along the road.
“The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, precisely around 3am,” our source said
The gunmen whose identities were still unknown also went away with two rifles belonging to the police.
The Public Relation Officer of the Police, ASP, Ahmed Rufa’i could not be reached for comments.
