The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has invited reputable and credible private firms to operate and maintain two of its refineries, the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) and the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC).
The NNPC in an expression of interest notice posted on its official X handle, said the move is to ensure reliability and sustainability to meet the nation’s fuel supply and energy security obligations.
It said the scope of work for the private firms it seeks will include long and short-term production and operations planning; production and operations execution; monitoring, reporting and optimisation of operations; maintenance planning (short term); maintenance execution and reliability; and inspection.
Others are process and controls engineering; quality control, quality assurance and laboratory; specialist engineering; health and safety; environmental management; turnaround maintenance planning and execution, minor projects, non-hydrocarbon procurement; sub-contractor management; and inventory and warehouse management.
It further said to qualify, companies must among others, show evidence of a minimum average annual turnover of at least $2 billion for the financial years ending 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 respectively.
The companies would also be required to provide details of the company’s O & M experience with refineries including records of ongoing and completed O&M contracts jetty facilities or turnaround maintenance within the last 20 years, among others.
