Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, along with chief executives of major Nigerian airlines, are in the United States for a week-long series of discussions aimed at introducing new and used Boeing aircraft into the Nigerian aviation market.
The visit and partnership, which is at the invitation of leading American aerospace company, Boeing, is intended to improve the operational efficiency, safety, and business practices of Nigerian airlines while providing access to Boeing’s technical expertise, training, and opportunities for acquiring new or used aircraft.
Special adviser to the Aviation Minister, Obafemi Bajomo, in a statement, said the invitation demonstrates Boeing’s commitment to partnering with Nigerian airline operators.
“This strategic visit is expected to culminate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Working Together Agreement (WTA) between Boeing and Nigeria in the next few days, signalling a new era of cooperation aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency, safety, and business practices of Nigerian airline operators,” the statement read in part.
