The District Head of Gatawa in Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto state, Isa Muhammad Bawa, who has been in bandits captivity for 22 days has begged his relatives and government for help.
The District Head was abducted along with his son and brother while returning from Sokoto three weeks ago.
In a few seconds video which went viral on social media platforms, Mr Bawa was seen saying, “I have been serving the government for about 45 years now.
“I am informing my relatives, well wishers, friends and leaders that today (Wednesday) is the final day, therefore if they want to assist me they should assist me now.
“I swear to the Almighty Allah that even they (the bandits) are tired because they too did their best but there is nothing from the government.
“I have been looking forward to their (government) assistance because I have been serving them for about 45 years, in the traditional institution,” he appealed.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that the bandits demanded the ransom of N500 million before releasing them.
