In response to the nationwide protest, Kaduna State has deployed over 25,000 police officers, armed forces, and other security personnel to strategic locations to ensure public order.
On Wednesday, the Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the armed forces and other security agencies, conducted a show of force operation across the city to build confidence.
According to a statement from the Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, the operation aims to prevent violence and deter individuals with malicious intent from disrupting the protest.
The deployment also serves to demonstrate the security agencies’ readiness and capability to maintain peace and order.
“The primary goal of this operation is to deter individuals with harmful intentions from causing violence during the protest. We have effectively deployed over 25,000 police officers, armed forces, and other security personnel to key flashpoints to ensure strict adherence to public order,” Hassan said.
He added that while the police will uphold citizens’ constitutional right to peaceful assembly and protest, they emphasize that the protest must remain peaceful.
The operation featured participation from several high-ranking officials, including the Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State, the Garrison Commander of 1 Division Kaduna, the Air Officer Commanding 453 Base Service Group Kaduna, the Commander of Civil Defense, the Commander of KADVS, as well as all ACPOLs and DPOs.
