The District Head of Gatawa in the bandit-troubled Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto state, Isa Muhammad Bawa, has been kidnapped at Kwanan Maharba.
Also kidnapped were the District Head’s son and younger brother last Saturday.
A resident of Sabon Birni who simply identified himself as Murtala said the vehicle of the district head was later found by the road site.
The Sole Administrator of Sabon Birni, Garba Umar Kaba said the three were abducted while returning from Sokoto.
“I don’t know the exact time,” he said, adding that the kidnappers were yet to call and make their demand known.
Kaba decried the incessant attacks on their communities by the miscreants despite their sustained efforts to tackle insecurity in the area.
“We have been supporting security operatives to patrol our communities but we are still recording incidences of abduction and attack,” he lamented.
